HealthViews announced today that it has provided in-kind provisioning of healthcare professional sample for a unique study on a poorly diagnosed area in children’s health called Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD).
DCD is characterized by the impairment of gross and/or fine motor coordination in children with average or above average intelligence. It’s distinguished from mere ‘clumsiness’ by its severity; the performance of daily activities for children diagnosed with DCD is a challenge.
In addition to measuring awareness and knowledge of DCD among key stakeholder groups, the study assessed information gaps as well as diagnostic processes. A multidisciplinary team comprised of educators, parents, healthcare professionals and researchers are pursuing this work with a passion to facilitate change within the agencies and systems which are best positioned to provide support to these children.

Research services were led by Vision Critical while HealthViews contributed by recruiting over 200 Canadian physicians from its HealthViews Market Research Panel to participate in a 5-10 minute online survey.
“We couldn’t have completed this study without the generous sample contribution HealthViews provided. The study data will be instrumental for the team to secure a communications platforms on this little known condition.” — Kristine Neil, VP Research Vision Critical.
